However, the real value of human-machine teams goes beyond using machines as simple human substitutes. Instead, effective teaming focuses on combining human intuition and AI’s data-processing abilities to create cohesive units that surpass the capabilities of either humans or machines alone. This requires training that strengthens human instinct in recognizing patterns rather than relying solely on AI explanations, which can sometimes lead to misplaced human trust in AI systems.
